#160: 2007; The end.
It's been quite a day, but I'm only going to blog about it later, so catch my later post guys. However, 2007 is ending and I'm experiencing a lot of mixed emotions. So many things had happened, whether happy or sad, interesting or dull. I'm sincerely sorry for this extremely wordy and emotional post and I know it wouldn't sound like me, but please just bear with me through this.To sum up, I think 2007 has been the best and most unforgettable year I've ever had. From the start, the new year of a Year3 life, leading to a new class full of unknown people. 3F has been an exceptionally fun and interesting class, with the coolest people. They've been most helpful in everything, and most friendly and tolerating towards me. We've had fun together since the start of the year, with the orientation, level camp, mid-autumn festival etc. The joy and laughter they've brought was never-ending. So to 3F, thankyou for the wonderful times in school this year, I hope the joy and laughter will continue as we go on to 4F next year, and a great happy 2008 to you guys. :) I had the best birthday of my life so far, this year. Got tons of presents and birthday wishes from everyone, even those that I didn't really thought they'd remember. The wishes warmed my heart greatly, thankyou everyone for the wishes, they really helped. And also another big thankyou to 3F for the lovely birthday song, leading to everyone wishing me a happy birthday, thankyou. :) Friendship day was awesome with those cute little presents from everyone, even unexpected friends. That's why you have friends; Surprises to be awaiting you at every corner you go. To all of you out there, thankyou for being there for me through some hard times I was having, and thankyou for lending me your ears, thanks for being great friends, thanks for everything. To be on the plane for the first time and going to countries like London and Paris isn't what everyone can experience. True, all others are able to afford a trip to anywhere, like Taiwan etc, since they were young. But it's my first time on a plane, first time, at the age of fifteen, and I went to London and Paris with a group of friends, during the Language Arts tour. This is something that I would never ever forget; "First time"s like this are hard to get. For this, I've been extremely thankful to my parents for forking out the huge sum of money to allow me on an overseas trip organised by the school. Thankyou mom and dad, both of you have given me the chance to have a "first time" like this. Examinations have been common for schoolers like me, but having an exam in the hall was something completely new to me. This year, I had the chance to have my end-of-year examinations in the hall, together with everyone of my batch. It's fascinating to see hands scribbling all around anxiously, some biting their pens or pencils while trying to find the solution to a problem, some writing on the paper nonchalantly. Exams, it's has been so common for me, since I started going to school. This year's end-of-year really told me a lot, telling me that I had been too loose with myself and not studying hard enough. Too noisy in class, too lazy to do homework. However, it's this year that told me that I could handle an extra subject, that if I studied, I can do it. December holidays had been a bomb for me. A total blast that blew me off my feet. Working to earn money was tough, but I had my first experience of working as a salesperson too. It gave me an idea as to what kind of career I could pursue in future, what kind of work that suits me. I also had great times shopping with a few friends, or even my mom. I guess, I bought more stuff this year, as compared to last year. But they're mostly things that I use occasionally, things that I would need. Life isn't just about a bed of roses; It has its ups and downs. This year, I've experienced almost everything possible that a normal teenager like me could experience, and it was well worth it. Life isn't all about myself; It's also about my family, friends, and those that I love. They say, "Love makes the world go round", it's true. 2007 has been filled with happiness and exciting new things that I got to try out, and I think I wouldn't have given anything to live through this year again. I want this year to be etched in my memory forever, to be the most special year that I would really remember among all the years I've lived. It's so special that I wouldn't want to relive it again. Time passes so fast; It flies. 2007 is ending in a blink of an eye. Soon, it'll be a new year once more, and new exciting and fascinating events would be awaiting ahead of us, calling out to us. Things change with time; People too. I think it had been a really great year for me, and how I had hoped for these happy moments to go slow. But we can't turn back time, and we can't make time go slower. All we can do is to live life to the fullest, with smiles everyday to brighten up the days of those around you, to not regret every thing that you have done and every step that you take. To end this, I wish all of you a happy new year, a happy 2008 and may you be surrounded by smiles everyday! |
