#173: Ugly impression of the public.
There is no revenge so complete as forgiveness. I feel so utterly helpless. I'm standing here, watching people around me fall into the depths of vengeance and revenge, and yet I can't do nuts about it. No matter how hard I try to discourage revenge, it doesn't work until you've cleared your mind and can think through it well enough. It ain't no joke, dude. Revenge is sweet, yes, but it worsens matters. Trust me. Yesterday when I was taking the bus home, this thinking suddenly occurred to me. Have you ever taken buses which are extremely crowded and full? I'd bet everyone has had this experience before. And have you ever looked towards the back of the bus when the bus gets so crowded that even people are totally squeezed up near the driver, at the front door of the bus? I always do. I always tend to look towards the back of the bus to check if it's really so crowded that everyone at the front the bus are totally squashed up. And it totally disgusted me. Utterly. I took 63 home from Aljunied mrt yesterday and due to the peak hour, even the bus stop was full of people. I've always thought about this but not once had I been so uber disgusted by inconsiderate Singaporeans. I still remember vividly the time when we were at the old campus at Tanjong Rhu, where there was only one bus to go to school - Bus number 158. I remember the times when Mr Sng always talked about the problems when we boarded the public buses during flag raising, and it suddenly occurred to me that, well, I believe the public has no right to complain about Dunmanians. Often we heard complains from members of the public that we did not bother to move to the back of the bus and thus resulting in them not being able to board the bus due to extreme crowding at the front. Now to think of it, I think the last person to have the right to complain about us is a member of the public. Yesterday's incident made me think so all the more. The bus was super crowded and since I was standing at the front, instinctively I looked towards the back of the bus to see if it was already so squashed up at the back that people at the front can't board the bus. And you know what I saw? I saw a totally empty back of the bus while us people at the front were so packed, like sardines in a can. I was so pissed off I had that I'm-going-to-kill-the-person-who-refused-to-move-in look on my face. I mean like hey, can't you even see that we all are squeezing so terribly at the front? At the least, move to the back of the bus, is that such a difficult thing to do? Or are you crippled and can't move in? You members of the public still have the face to complain about our school students. What about you yourselves? You people are like so inconsiderate and never even spared a thought for other people who were being squashed up at the front of the bus. Have you ever thought of the fact that you guys are members of the public and that most of you are older than us students? No? You people are older than us and you are already setting up this negative example for us. So what gives you the right to complain about us? You guys were the ones who showed us how to be inconsiderate to others. You never even set a good example for us to follow, so what right do you have to complain about us? You don't. I repeat for the very last time, you bloody don't. Another incident that got on my nerves is that there was once, no not only once, people tend to knock into people and yet not once did they even bother to apologize. This particular auntie knocked into me and yet she just stood there as if nothing happened. She didn't just brush past my shoulder, she knocked into my shoulders, mind you. She didn't even give a damn about it, and the infuriating part is that she didn't even say "sorry". Eh hello, it's just once single word with two syllable, is it so hard to have it out of your mouth? Or have you no manners since young and thus do not even know the meaning of "apologizing"? This reflects greatly on your manners you know. It shows how ill-mannered you are since young. I believe that, to be able to complain about us students, you public should improve on your own attitudes. So, shut the fuck up and stop trying to complain about us. |
